Bali, August 2017

This is a late post. I just want to put it on my blog.

My family went to Bali in August last year (2017). We stayed there for six nights. Believe it or not, this is my first time to Bali, even though it’s only an hour of flight from my home in Indonesia.

We stayed at The Oasis Lagoon Sanur. A very good place. I’d love to stay there again should I visit Bali in the future. Located in the famous Sanur area, it is surrounded by a lot of cool spots. And it’s not that far away from the capital city Denpasar or to everyone’s favourite beach Kuta.

I missed riding the scooter so it was the first thing I rented when we arrived. The three of us,-me, my wife and my daughter, went to a lot of places riding scooter and with the assistance of Google Maps. We rode to Kuta, Ubud, Gianyar, Seminyak, Legian, and all around Sanur & Denpasar. The only time we used a car was when we went to the temple in Uluwatu, because it’s quite a long journey from Sanur.

Although it is still in Indonesia, Bali really felt like a different place. It has a unique culture, with different language, foods, & climate (my hometown Bandung is in the highlands, so it has a quite cool climate for a tropical region). All in all, my first time visiting Bali was a great experience.
